A SERMON ON A CAKE, NO, A CAKE WITH A SERMON... IT'S BOTH REALLY๐ ๐๐
August 17th 2020 morning will forever be ingrained in my mind... At least I think so. I ate a cake I will never forget... I really like cake... And cakes really love me... I know as a Christian I am called to only love God and people but honestly... I looooove cake ๐
๐๐๐ญ... Everytime I pass near a bakery... I hear them call me by my 5 names... Yeah, including the one's people don't know... That's how deep our relationship is...
My friend DD had celebrated her mum's birthday the previous day by surprising her with a 3 layered cake: Vegan Cake, Carrot Classic and Red Velvet... Red velvet is one of my favourite cakes... Together with anything that has dark chocolate in it... Wait, and raisins too๐... (Hello rock buns, I've missed you๐)... Anyway, she needed help with the left over cake as seen in the photo๐ LOL... no help was needed I offered anyway๐๐๐...
What I loved about this cake is the sermons it preached to me as I ate it... Yes! I am that deep๐๐ or the cake was๐... I have been trying to write down the sermons preached by that cake but they only sound good in my head๐ .
This was my first time to eat a 3 layered cake of different great flavours๐. I wasn't sure which flavor to start with and which one to end with so I just kept eating randomly.... For my second last bite I decided to eat all 3 flavours at a go. Oh my, I started crying๐ญ. I didn't want that sweetness to disappear. That was the sweetest thing that my tongue had tasted in a while... I thank God no one was with me at that dining table. They would have thought I'm crazy...
I say that cake preached me a sermon because, I kept wondering, "If a cake can taste so good and give my body such experiences. How much more the word of God, my daily bread, meat๐ and milk?"(I feel like I'm describing pizza๐ ... Another of my favourites). And even crazier is what I have been doing since that day... When I find the word seemingly "dry" I have found myself revisit this photo and say, "Surely Daddy, your words are sweeter than this cake... And the many others I like๐๐" then go back to reading the Bible... And reading the word has never been this sweet๐ญ๐ญ...
In closing, my birthday is quite far away, plus I prefer pizza for my birthday. My graduation feels a bit far(6wks๐). But, I can come up with another event just so I eat a good cake, right?
Yesterday I completed my final project and presentation as a Student of Architecture. I was too fatigued to celebrate so I decided to push the celebration to tomorrow.
7yrs ago, a time like this, was my 8th week of joining campus. After those 8 weeks of what seemed like (archi)torture๐ , and being offered the chance to change courses, I stayed๐ช๐ช. And were it not for Rona, strikes etc I would have celebrated my graduation by now... So why not celebrate that instead... i.e Finishing- 8-4-6-day?
You are all welcome to the celebration as long as you come with these new cakes by Batter and Berry Bakes that I have been swallowing with my eyes (kula kwa macho๐๐) and a good number of packets of milk... Yeah, cakes are best eaten with milk to balance out the calories with proteins๐ ... so I think๐...
Thank you Terry and your team for a wonderful cake experience for DD's Mum's birthday... May God keep anointing you like that. Keep baking cakes that not only delight the physical senses but also give us spiritual experiences๐ ๐๐ ... And also may you get many customers and trainees so you take this business internashonoo...โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ My graduation is in a few weeks time and I can't wait for you to blow me away.
Back to you dear God's Artwork, what is your favourite cake flavour? Do you have a dish that makes your cells and soul cry, "Come quickly Lord Jesus". Let me know in the comments๐.
Haha I loved this post... Congratulations Madam Architect. We are bringing those house design requests.
ReplyDeleteAs of favourite foods imagine for me it's wheat products too๐๐... And I have many sermons they've preached too...
Thank you God Girl. Are you sure you are not my twin?
